A'u Struck Fishing Charters offers you a low priced
alternative to the big, pricey charters operating out
of Honokohau harbor in Kona, Hawaii.
We have the lowest rates for a twin diesel Sport Fisher in the entire Kona fleet!
Owned and operated by Capt. Rich Youngs, the A'u Struck fishing vessel fills the void between the large, overpriced charter boats and the small, cramped boats. It's a perfect fit for families on a budget who want all the niceties of the bigger boats at the price level of the small boats. We are a family oriented business and strive to present a fun day of fish catching for all on board!
30' Precision flybridge sportfisher with top quality rods and
reels, fighting chair, plenty of comfortable seating
and enclosed head.
Twin diesel engines for safe, secure fishing enjoyment on a great fish catching boat at an extrordinarily affordable price.
Why pay the high price when we catch the same as the pricey charters?
Our Charter rates are a bargain for what you get:
1/2 Day = $325* (4 hours)
3/4 Day = $400* (6 hours)
Full Day = $475* (8 hours)
(these prices are about half the cost of the other charters)
*4% Hawaii tax will be added for all credit card transactions
Charters are for up to 5 people and prices are for the whole boat not per person!
A deckhand may be on board for assistance and safety. Tipping for the deckhand is discretionary (usually 10-20%).
We'll have ice, bait and tackle, complementary water, drinks and snacks on board. You should bring food, drinks, and sunscreen, etc. for your own use as well.
Fishing starts at 6:30AM
You need to be at the launch ramp by 6:15AM

When we do catch fish:
Our policy is to clean one (or some) of the caught fish for your personal consumption. We'll clean and bag it for you right there at the boat when we get back from our trip. The amount of fish you'll take home varies on the size and quantity of fish caught but generally amounts to what you think you'll want to eat while you're here on vacation (generally from 5 to 20 lbs. of cleaned fish.)
The remainder of the fish will stay with the boat.
